PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
When most people think of an entry level videocard, they always think about the basics and nothing more. Gaming should be dismal, performance and features capabilities should be limited and
the pricetag should be low. Granted, this x1300xt version today should be priced below the US$100 dollar mark, it oddly weighs in at around US$120-$150 if you can find it on retail shelves. But why is the pricetag higher?
Before you get all worked up, if I told you that the X1300XT's RV530Pro was an X1600 Pro in drag would you believe me? Well....you better because it is. This card's core is essentially an X1600pro with a different sticker. It still has the same 12 pixel shader and 5 vertex shader processors and 500Mhz/800Mhz clock rates as the X1600pro, but this X1300XT has a couple tricks up its' sleeve.
For one, the X1600pro and the X1300XT reference cards both use DDR2, but this version is using DDR3. But why? Well, because this version is overclocked right out of the box at 575Mhz Core and a respectable 1388Mhz memory right out of the box. This increase in memory and core bandwidth take a normal card, and elevates it into a practical videocard for the average gamer. Also, you will see a little later that these clock speeds are not even close to what this card can reach if you overclock it even further.
This is a very capable card for the money and keep reading to see why.
